How is Journey to Me different than a free Blog?

Layout and Design - Pictures and posts upload to beautifully designed journal pages.
Easy to Navigate - Viewers can move through a journal forward and backward just like a book. The journal table of contents allows viewers to be automatically directed to a favorite page.
Can Be Preserved - Journals can be captured on CD or printed in our custom keepsake book. Families can share these precious memories for years to come.
Donations - Journals allow subscribers and journal viewers to make secure donations to Journey To Me programs. All donations are tax deductable.

How long does Journey to Me host my Journal?

You receive 12 months of free hosting.

What if I still want my journal hosted after 12 months?

Extended hosting is available in your journal admin area. Click "Your Account" and choose "extend." Extended hosting is only $5.00 per month and you can choose to renew on a monthly basis.

How many journal entries can I make?

You can make as many journal entries as you would like.

How many photos can I post each day?

You can add one photo to your homepage and five photos to each of your daily entries. Remember you can make another entry for the day if you have more than five photos to post.

How do my friends and family see my journal?

You are going to share the username and password you created for viewers with everyone who you would like to join your journey. Make sure not to share your admin username and password. This is for your use only.

I have a Macintosh. Can I use Journey to Me?

Yes. If you are using a Mac and cannot see the "save disc" in the journal entry text box, your computer is operating an old browser. Visit getfirefox.com and download the best browser available for Macs FREE. You will see the free download button to the right of the screen. It should only take a few minutes.

Can I choose if I want my journal public or private?

Yes. Log onto your journal admin area and select “Your Account.” There is an area on the left hand side that allows you to choose public or private. You can change your journal to public or private at anytime during the duration of journal usage.

Will I be able to access Journey to Me when I travel to other countries?

You can access Journey to Me anywhere that provides a connection to the Internet.

Do I need to bring my laptop with me if I am traveling to another country?

No, you do not need to bring a laptop. Most hotels have computers in the business center with Internet access. However, many families report a laptop is very easy to bring and convenient. Daily journal entries can be made right from the hotel room at anytime.

What should I bring with me to record my journey if I'm traveling?

Bring a camera. Digital cameras are the most convenient because you can download daily pictures to your computer right after you take them. If you don't have a digital camera, you can bring your regular camera or a disposable camera. There are many places to develop photos onto CDs in different countries where adoptive families travel. Pictures can be loaded to your journal from the CD.

Bring your camera cord. You will need a way to get your pictures from your camera to your computer.

Bring a disposable camera. We recommend every family traveling internationally bring a disposable camera for back up. You won't want to miss capturing a single moment!

Print your email of helpful tips and bring it with you.

I signed up. What do I do next?

Enter the username and password you created in the boxes to the left on the homepage. You will be brought to your journal admin area.

Click "your account." Look for the fields that allow you to change the username and password for your viewers. Enter the username and password you desire in the boxes and click "update." You are ready to share this username and password with all your friends and family who you wish to join your journey.
Now, click "Create my Homepage." Click the edit link next to "homepage" on the journal entry table. Write a short letter in the text box and click the save disc in the upper left corner. This will bring you to a screen that lets you add one photo to your homepage. Browse for the desired photo and select it. Click "add photo." Your homepage is created.
If you are ready to make an entry, click "Make an Entry." This is exactly like creating your homepage, but you may add 5 photos.
Logout when you are finished.

How come I received an error message when I tried loading my photo?

You will receive an error message if your file is not a gif or jpeg. If the picture you took is in a different format, email it to us and we would be happy to convert it for you.

You will receive an error message if your photo file name contains symbols or spaces. To rename a photo file, right click on the file and choose "rename." Choose a name without symbols or spaces.

Can I change the email address I signed up with to a new one?

Yes. Log onto your journal admin area and click "your account." You will see a field with your email address in it. Change the address as desired and click "update." The "Send Encouraging Words" link will now show the new email address to viewers.

I made a mistake on one of my journal pages. Can I fix it?

Editing your existing entries is easy. Log onto your journal admin area and click "edit and entry." Make the desired changes in the text box and click the save disc in the upper left corner.

Can I delete a picture I already posted to my journal?

Yes, you simply log onto your journal admin and click "Edit an Entry." Choose "edit" next to the entry on the journal entry table that contains the picture you want to delete. Click the "delete" button next to the picture you would like to erase. Click the save button in the upper left corner. It will take you to a page where you can choose to add another photo.

Can I save my journal?

Yes. All journals are available to purchase on CD or a hardcover keepsake book. Share your memories with your child for years to come. CDs are available for purchase in the “your account” area in the journal admin.
