well, i know that this could have happened, but i was hoping it would not have. it is saturday evening and i am no longer the one caroline wants. we got her from the orphanage on wednesday and on thursday when she woke up from her nap it all about "ba". and now we have progressed to her out right refusing me. she clings to charles like a monkey on a tree. she will let me bathe, dress her, and take her to the potty, but that it is it. i cannot express how hurt i am. i know that she will come around,but it still hurts. no matter how much i read and thought i was prepared, not even close.so as i have been told many times before getting here that this is not for the faint of heart. it HURTS !
well, with some of these feelings vented i will let you know about our trip. today we went to the mekong delta. it was ok, i could have gone without it. the best part is the drive out there to see the "country side" it is so interesting how these people live and amazing that they do live, getting from one place to the next by any form such as car, scooter, taxi, bicycle, walking
and surviving is a true miracle.
we had dinner last night on the saigon river,it was nice. a very beautiful place.
for those wondering about food (melanie) i really have not had anything just really great. we ate at the lemongrass restaurant one night and i ordered a seafood pho. well, i believe the were shark fins in there and some other type of fish that i was very unsure of. a little bit more exotic than i cared for. last night i thought i would order safely, chicken. it was quite greasy. charles ordered fried sea bass, it was a sea bass fried.....head, tail, eyes. but the best was he ordered pork fried rice for caroline, well there was fried rice and the pork was on the side it was bacon that had been boiled and cut into 1 inch pieces palced on a plate. it was very interesting and i am afraid we offended the people of the restaurant, because we did laugh and did not eat one bite of it. the best meal we have had have been the breakfast buffet at the hotel. it is a huge variety of asian, american continental, and european breakfast. we have really enjoyed it. needless to say i am so ready for a whopper with cheese and a fountain diet dr. pepper from sonic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
