Life sure gets busy when you love being parent. The last year plus has gone by so quickly and I can't believe my baby girl is already two!!! Here is a quick recap:
Yenny became Eva Joy Yen soon after coming home. In the Vietnamese tradition I decided to name her for meaning. Eva means "life" - after Sophia passed away I felt this was appropriate. In addition, Eva is so full of life and she has completely fullfilled mine. Joy - my Mothers name and something we strive to experience daily. Yen means "Peace" - something we all should strive for. So her name means "life, joy and peace".
I readopted Eva on National Adoption day (November 15th). I highly suggest this experience for anyone who is in the process to adopt.
Eva is an absolute a joy and I am so lucky to be her Mommy. She is a typical toddler and is developmentally on track. She is happy by nature so she is usually singing and she is very active (i.e. television bores her and only recently will whe watch up to 10 minutes of Barney). She can be shy and quiet at first and really studies things but when she is comfortable in her surroundings she is chatty and very engaging. I think the pictures say a lot.
I actually reenacted this journal because I am finally putting her life book together (I think that what you call it - basically a scrapbook for her which chronicals the adoption process and becoming a forever family) and I wanted to remember what my thoughts were during the adoption process. This will be my last post on Journey to Me. I have enjoyed reading everyones journals and continue to follow the journals for those of you who started the adoption process (and journals) at the same time. There are only a few still waiting to bring there children home. Everyone waiting to bring their children home are in my thoughts and I pray daily that soon you will enjoy the joy of being a parent. It will happen, I promise.
Take care everyone I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the online adoption community.
